I made it to Philadelphia!

IMG_1295.JPG
A boring airport... or the most boring airport?

I made it to Philly. I helped a pair of old ladies get their bags off the carousel and now I'm sitting between the departures side and the arrivals side of the airport. I have three hours before I'm supposed to meet my professor and my classmates, so I'll tell you a little about this trip.

In February, students who went to Geneva for the same program last summer came to every computer science class I was taking and pitched the trip to us. Initially, I was skeptical. "No way are my parents paying for that," I thought. After the third or fourth presentation, I was sold. I had to go.

My dozen or so class mates are staying in two six-person flats on what looks like the border between Bloomsbury and Holborn. Our classroom is only a walk away and our activities will dictate our class schedule. If we want to start an outing early one day, we can have class early. If we want to sleep in a little bit after a busy week, we can push class back a little. We're the only class using the building this summer, so we can be very flexible.

Before I go look for a snack, I'll leave you with one funny tidbit. I was going to purchase the domain name "www.im-going-to-school-in-london-for-a-month-and-i-hope-to-see-celebrities-like-amy-winehouse-madonna-or-maybe-hugh-grant.com" but the registrar said it was too long. Pass A Month in London along to anybody you like. If there's anything you want a picture of, let me know! We have free time every single day so I'll always be looking for something fun to do.

From the City of Brotherly Love,
Eric
